Santa Anita Handicap Day - it is the first really big event of the year in North America, with top class main track performers clashing in the 'Big Cap', excellent milers crossing swords in the Kilroe Mile, and some of the world's best 3yo fillies meeting in the Santa Anita Oaks.
This is why Globeform joins in with a Big Cap Day Special, and of course, we will throw in the best action at Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park too. The date is Saturday, March 7, and this sections opens on Monday March 2.

| Santa Anita Oaks: Stardom Bound to be odds-on, again |
|
Santa Anita Saturday: Stardom Bound will get more rivals than at first anticipated, when she goes for the Santa Anita Oaks (G1), but those who might have had a chance at troubling her have dropped out.
It is easy to see why. Clashing with last year’s champion juvenile filly at this stage of the season, when she has already made an impressive seasonal debut, was never going to tempt too many owners and trainers of potential Kentucky Oaks (G1) contenders.
Pick 3 plans and recommended Double bet included in this preview.

| Kilroe Mile: Ventura in perfect spot |
|
Santa Anita Saturday: Returning to turf and stepping up to a mile, following two Grade 1 wins over 7 furlongs on the main track, Bobby Frankel’s filly Ventura looks the one to beat in the Kilroe Mile (G1).
She has eleven to beat, and the one who could cause her most trouble is barnmate Mast Track, who made the switch to this event, rather than a crack at the big boys on the Santa Anita Handicap (G1).

| Santa Anita Handicap: This is some horserace |
|
Santa Anita Saturday: The top race of the winter / spring season in California is upon us, and this year’s edition of the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) has drawn an evenly matched field of fourteen.
Einstein has been given top weight, as he returns to 1 ¼ miles and tries the Pro-Ride surface for the first time. He is set to meet strong runners like Champs Elysees, third in the Big Cap last year, Colonel John, winner of the 2008 Santa Anita Derby (G1), Matto Mondo, a rapidly improving South American import, as well as two talented four-year-olds in Hollywood Derby (G1) winner Colonel John and Strub Stakes (G2) winner Cowboy Cal. Throw in the French import Zambezi Sun, who has been given a particularly attractive weight, and you are looking at some horserace.
